Moon landing(s) fake or not?

Maybe it's a personal bias but as a kid who grew up with a dad who was a lead project engineer on the Gemini Program (and having had Gus Grissom and Alan Shepard over to our house for dinner), I just can't wrap my head around how anyone could believe they weren't real/faked.

My dad also held a patent for some important space hardware so I tend to trust HIS word.

Someone explain to me please?

My old man gave Lockheed over 40 years of service, growing up in the 70's and 80's we were always subject to his clearances getting upgraded and never knew exactly what he did or what programs (always said be careful what you say on the phone and they'd go through our trash). I believe we landed, he believed we landed, my wife thinks it was faked.

I met many astronauts over my career, including Neil and Buzz.

I have stuff in my home that went to space and came back. I have been on 4 Shuttles and countless expendable launch vehicles during processing and recovery. I have personally designed space hardware that continues to deliver today.

BTW, I also had personal friends that were lost in 9/11, so don't even start on that one.

I never doubted it for a minute. Was at YMCA camp in July '69 when they landed. We used to be a great country.

Yes, it's only been in the last 10-15 years that (young) people said it was fake.

I have zero doubt about the 1969 landing being real. I was in the Green Tavern in Fairport NY, standing at the end of the bar drinking beer while it was live on the (black and white) TV.

Today it could be easily done, and believable, with AI. Who knows what political motive they might have today, but it assuredly would be something evil.

Back in the day, not much reason to fake it other than to fool the USSR that we were "ahead" of them in space weaponry or whatever.

There are more immediate things to worry about what the current government is doing, than what they may or may not have faked 55 years ago.
