I used to never miss a race on TV. Have been to over 20 races in person, all over the country, and I now might watch 1 or 2 races an entire season. NASCRAP went WWE and screwed it all up. Eff them.

These are the names that were winning when I was watching regularly. By the mid 80's I had lost interest. Yes, it's been a LONG time.

1 Dale Earnhardt
2 Cale Yarborough
3 Benny Parsons
4 Richard Petty
5 Darrell Waltrip
6 Bobby Allison
7 Jody Ridley
8 Terry Labonte
9 Dave Marcis
10 Richard Childress

I watch from the warmup laps through to all cars off the track after the checkers. Otherwise I hit ESPN's NASCAR page for the headlines.

I just can't stand the commentators so I listen to them as little as possible. I did catch what they're passing off as a "grid walk" with Micheal Waltrip... it was stunningly stupid.

Started following in the early 50,s while in high school. Ardent fan until about 5 years ago. Maybe watch part of Daytona, maybe Talladega but just follow in paper. As far as I am concerned the sport has no character anymore.

I used to watch every lap every week and would go to at least 3-4 races a year. Now I set the DVR and usually watch the first 10 laps, fast forward to anything that looks interesting, then watch the last 20 or so laps.

If I miss a race, I'm not too upset.

i dont remember childress as a driver winning any cup races, also dont think ridley won more then 1 or 2 cup races, but he was a good lower tier short track racer. i forgot the name of the series that he was the star in.

Was just looking at jayski reading about Kenseth's penalty and saw this...

Quote:
Depends on the #42 Longtime partner of the Target Chip Ganassi Racing program, Kimberly-Clark, will feature the Depend brand on the #42 Chevy SS at Richmond International Raceway. Juan Pablo Montoya will drive the black Chevy SS with Depend branding under the lights Saturday night. Depend is the market leader in the adult incontinence category in North America.(Earnhardt Ganassi)
Wonder how JPM feels about driving a car sponsored by adult diapers.
