Those accidents are why I drive 80+MPH at all times, as logically the less time spent on the roadways lessen your accident probability---no cop in my town agrees with me.

I watched some of the trucker accidents and I got to thinking about
some of the lives I have saved over the years. It was good driving and
luck that kept me and them from a horriable wreck.
Just one true story.
I am on I40 coming up to a TA truckstop exit. The guy in a dually is
stopped at a stop sign before getting on the interstate. He is stopped
because of construction on the exit and the shoulder on I40. I am in
the right lane . I pass him but thought I would check my left mirror.
I see he is moving and I jerk the wheel left making the trailer sling
left. I knock his rear left fender off and his front bumper is now
perpendicular. I would have killed him for sure ,it was that close.
Long story short..he got a ticket, I got a new tire and wheel, and
he tried to sue me.
It is dangerous , out there.
