1993 playoffs. A series that will be remembered by Leaf fans for a long time due to the fact that Gretzky high sticked Douggie Gilmour right in front of the ref (Kerry (the hair) Frasier) and it wasn't called.
Should of been thrown out but wasn't even called a minor penalty.
Gretzky scores the winner in overtime.

If Toronto won the game it would of been a Toronto vs. Montreal Stanley Cup.
That's epic like a Yankees vs. Mets World Series.

A lot of people say that the 80s was the best time for hockey. I actually like the 90s better. My take is that, scoring declined, sure. But higher scoring doesn't necessarily make better hockey.

Edit: I didn't see Toronto on Detroit's schedule. Weird.

Toronto vs Detroit games use to be amazing when they were in the same division(Norris).
Lots of battles.
Too bad they're not playing each other this year.
