Default Fathers day..what did ya do?

Man, we did it up right here today. My one neighbor had two massive slabs of ribs that we smoked, my other neighbor had primo catfish filets, that we deep fried. Hush puppies, cole slaw, Pioner womans peach dumblings (oh hell yeah). To hell with cobbler after some of that. Cold beer aplenty, and I am about to bust. Had a fantastic time. Couldn't have asked for anything better. I am fortunate to have some really cool neighbors. Good times!

Went over to dad's, daughter showed up, grilled filets, watched some golf and car auction. Exchanged gifts; wife got me a gift, daughter did not.

Default Fathers day..what did ya do?

Spent the whole day at the hospital with my Dad and my son. First year as a Dad and it was fantastic to have all of us together just sharing time with one another. This evening we went to my sisters house so my Dad could rest and took my son swimming.

Kind of a strange day.
He's my step-dad, but I call him dad. Have for over 30 years. (My dad died back in '74 of a heart-attack)

Anyway, step brother calls, his mom (step-dads first wife) passed away. She was 96, (twelve years older than my step-dad). We knew she wasn't doing to well, but it still was a bit sudden.

There had been a lot of animosity between the two of them over the years (he used to say he missed her like a toothache), but still, you hate to see someone go. My step-brother couldn't take much of her at one time either, but she was still his mother.

We'll grill the fathers-day steaks in a week or two.

Didn't do anything with the old boy yesterday except to pick him up at the train station after he was away for a week. Today I've got corn on the cob, many racks of ribs, and baked taters for dinner, with copious amounts of margaritas of course!

Sounds like a damn good day James.
It is a huge blessing to have cool neighbors.

We spent it at FIL's house celebrating his 60th birthday.

Took the Z06 to a show at the Golf Village in St. Augustine Saturday. After that we headed up to Jacksonville Beach and had a cookout at my older son's house. Sunday we went across town and had lunch with my sister and then home. Spent last night with a glass of Makers watching the College World Series.

I went to the cemetery to see my dad and shed quite a few tears. Went to home depot and bought a table saw. Came home to be told by my wife that she wants a divorce because , I am"A loser who will never amount to anything in life". Shed some more tears, drank a few beers and came to work this morning. I would really like a nap.

Sent my two off to church camp for a week, . Tried to call my dad but hes in a nursing home and Im not sure he is able to answer the phone. Got some gummy bears and some Firefly Sweet tea flavored whiskey from the wife. Went swimming and drank a few beers. I will start missing the kids later this evening.

My daughter came over. We made a lasagna and just stayed inside and watched TCU beat Texas Tech in the College World Series ( ). My son is in summer school at Arkansas and won't be back for a few weeks, so we Face-Timed with him. Thought about my Dad and how much I miss him (he's buried in CA so no visiting). Last night I hit a large bucket at the Driving Range.

All in all a great day!

First of all I'm sorry.
