Shift knob replacement
Ok folks I have another question. My 03 coupe in an automatic. I want something besides the regular "Button on top of the knob" look. So off to Mid America I go. I found the shift knob I wanted and there is also an adapter that is sold to make the new knob work with the automatic transmission.
I get the old knob off, which I have found out is a lot easier than removing the shift knob on a manual. I put the adapter on as directed, put the new knob on and.......................now it won't go into Park far enough to get the key out of the ignition. Link to picture of the adapter: C5 Corvette Shift Knob Adaptor 1997-2004 Automatic - Mid America Motorworks Link to the destructions.......er.... INSTRUCTIONS: http://content.mamotorworks.com/pdf/618196.pdf Anyone have any ideas as to what I am not doing right? The small shaft in the second link won't depress far enough to engage, disengage, regage, or whatever gage it is supposed to do. HELP!!! |

Maybe the adapter didn't seat all the way down before you tightened the allen screws?
