He does have some odd pics and gifs in his spank bank. Why he keeps showing them to folks on this forum is anyone's guess.

Driveway rock is referenced in the Cab Driver thread.

Pro-tip:

Yaddie, you probably have a broken or loose engine mount, probably from that major shopping cart collision the Ranger suffered recently. Probably should check for frame damage, too.

It's not hard to have a cd that runs a spectrum sweep from 20Hz - 20kHz (freq range of red book CDs) to find the resonant frequency of the problem area.

I can't imagine you'd be able to generate enough SPL to reach heavier parts like suspension components etc that would never "rattle" with the 95db average a factory stereo could produce.

Interesting concept that would work for interior parts though.

I am actually a certified vibration technician through IRD. That was about 35 years ago and I have forgotten a lot, but as Scott said, you'd be challenged to locate a suspension part's resonant frequency easily. There are pick ups and instruments that can do it, but it's not something just anyone could do.

I used one of these several times a day...

Perhaps it's because he was told that after he's done with his studies he could have "Show And Tell" hour. Pure conjecture on my part, of course...

The noise is in the Porch, a damped rattle, sounds like rear suspension. At slow speeds, not when turning or with a load in the rear of the car. That's all pointing to sway bar bushings or shock mounts, but I was under the car while it was on ramps for over an hour/ day trying to diagnose it. It's all tight.
