Spur of the moment outing 2/27

I was talking to Brian (oif2xvet) earlier today, and he is having Corvette Camaraderie withdraws. He is coming down this Saturday (2/27) from Hopewell to get together for some lunch and who knows what other trouble we can get into.

We were talking about Quaker Steak & Lube on the Peninsula since it is kinda centrally located for people wanting to come in from Richmond, Williamsburg, Oceanfront, and anywhere else.

Trying to gauge to see who is interested, and if anyone has any suggestions for anything before and/or after lunch, and what time frame is good for people.

We also have a thread over at CF so after we get some replies and talk it over we will post up more definite details...hopefully by early evening tomorrow.

JOE HERE IS WHAT I POSTED ON THE OTHER SITE:

ALL VA, Richmond, VA Beach and everything in between, Joe (ZZ4Vetteguy) and I have decided to have an impromptu gathering at Quaker Steak and Lube (resturant) on Saturday 27 FEB. The weather is supposed to be mid 50's and sunny. We are trying to get the Corvette room that we taged last visit. In addition, if anyone has any ideas of something to do after, let us know. Details blelow:

Who: ALL Corvette owner
What: Gathering of new friends and old
When: 27 Feb, Meet between 1 and 1:30 (late lunch)
Where: Quaker Steak and Lube, 12832 Jefferson Avenue Newport News, VA 23608

Va Beach people... want to meet at the Best Buy off of Independence right off of 264? @ 12:30? Or we could do the Target off of First Colonial/Oceana at the same time.

Brian...another good meeting spot is the motel at Lake Wright on Northampton Blvd (in front of the golf course). You come out of the parking lot and your jump right on 64.

Although the Best Buy at Independence is doable for me.

That motel works too... I was more looking for ZZ4vetteguy to pick as he's started all of this, but we should just pick a spot and a time and go with it.

Unless anyone suggests different the lake wright motel @ 12:30-12:45 works for me... from there to Jefferson is a quick blast up 64.

I know right, what a lazy azz he is, I bet he will try to use some excuse like work got in the way and has not been online all day or something lame like that.

I was all up for Best Buy, but the motel works for me too...would not be the first time I have been caught coming out of a motel....LOL j/k

I just need to know one thing....WHERE is the motel, or at least what is it called.

Uh... its called the lake wright motel... its right off of northampton just before 64.

I might be out, my power steering has been leaking and I could smell the belt slipping today. I have the parts I need but I don't know if I will be able to get it back on the road in time tomorrow. Change me to maybe.

I never pay attention to the hotels or golf courses out in that area.
