Score!!!

I told you it was a good tractor. Even though I knew what was wrong, and could have easily fixed it myself, secretly I wanted a new one. New one has 6" wider deck and is faster. I realistically finish my lawn 33% faster. These days, with unlimited work available to me with my concrete client, time is money.

So funny thing, this 14 year old mower is better than the 5 year Cub cadet I have. The deere is fatser and cuts much easier. I'm a believer of the JD's now.

I think you made the right decision upgrading. Maybe in another 10 or 12, we can do this again

That's an interesting review of the Cub and the JD. Glad you are happy.

It is pretty heavy. Pushing it up that ramp was fun.

Give me a call when your Z06 needs a few sensors and you secretly crave a new one.

That explains why the JD is better. It's the base "big box store" model.

You will be happy with the JD, a good upgrade from the LTX

L100 was base big box... L110 was hydro vs 5 speed. Everything else the same.

Lets just say I'm far from impressed with the 1000 series cubs of that era

How about the XT2 series out now? I’m needing a replacement for my Troybilt (MTD) as it is about 14 years old and while it has been flawless, I like the looks of the new Cub Cadets but not if it’s going to be a maintenance nightmare

DW, Did you go tractor or zero radius turn? I'm thinking about a Deere for the next zero turn.

I stayed with the tractor style out of respect for packaging concerns in the garage. I will tell you this, this thing turns WAY tighter than Marcus' model. I can nearly make 90 degree turns.

I read thru a few of the XT2 owners comments on Only Cub Cadets forum and it seems they are either acceptable or have engine problems. The engines are made in China for the XT2 models. One guy who work on them refered to them as "expensive throw away models".

If you can afford to upgrade to the XT3 series, they have Kohler engines and are built much better. They are also more expensive.

If you do go with the XT2, make sure you get as much warranty as possible. They also offer ( in the very fine print ) a "lemon law" exchange or buy back.

One guy did the exchange ( valve seat came out of the engine and trashed it ) and ended up with engine problems on the replacement. Only then did he find out the lemon clause is a one use only

I started a thread on OCC. It got moved to the "lawn tractor section" and one of the senior moderators posted this reply.

It's a belt drive lawn mower. If you are going to buy a new Cub it's XT3 or just go get a throw away POS at Lowes or Home Cheapo
