Now mind you...I rarely post here, and I can't remember starting a thread here. But the audacity of Hollywood is really over the top.

I'm not a huge fan of Palin. I mean, she's ok, but IMHO the last dynamic leader this country had was Teddy Roosevelt, so that gives you an idea of what I think of today's candidates and politicians (Democrat, Republican or otherwise). But for a comedian (who panders to and makes fun of the Hispanic audience, by the way) to be so full of him or herself that they would actually make such a statement is absolutely absurd. And it occurs to me that the USA has made you a very wealthy man for some very mediocre comedy, Mr. Lopez. So quit your fecking grandstanding as though whomever is elected President would cause you one millisecond of inconvenience in your life.

So enjoy the Great White North there George. I'll help you pack. Let us know how it works out for you.

the next election is big-time pivotal in the nation's history. we are literally at the fork. it's either full-blown progressivism or some form of libertarian/conservative.

that being said, i like her strictly as cheerleader on the sidelines & pissing off progressives.

One of the eye-opening aspects of my summer trip to Alaska was going through Wasilla and expecting the town of Mayberry, frozen. The media had me assured it was a hamlet with a one room schoolhouse and a post office in the General Store.

Hell. Its basically a suburb of Anchorage and there are 350,000 people there. Lowes, Home Depot, Target, shopping malls, freeways.... looked like every other suburb in America.

Anchorage. The city contains about 1/2 of the total population of Alaska.

About 8,000 people in Wasilla proper, but from what I saw most Alaskans live outside of the city. The locals said that almost everyone who does live there, works in Anchorage.

Yeah, a little googling shows Wasilla to be about 43 miles from Anchorage, a commutable distance, although the weather would have to make it difficult at times.

Back in the day, celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable, Judy Garland and so on did things like visited USO stations, raised money for a war effort and tended to do things for the benefit of the country. As opposed to the current crop of celebs who feel it's all about them.

The truth of the matter is, is that apparently Palin did quite well as her tenure as Alaskas' Guv'na (especially in the area of taxing Big Oil to increase Alaskas' Revenue base substantially ...) ... McKook is the actual culprit for her demise as a serious executive office contender playing her as a celeb to go up against Obamas' political celebrity status ... then she killed herself off (politically but not celebrity) by upholding the Tea Party agenda that showed her true colors eventually culminating in the Tucson/Blood Libel incident ...

She's done well for herself nonetheless ...
