That brake dust has to go somewhere. If you install those shields where does the dust wind up? Does it pile up somewhere and have to be emptied out? Or does it just divert it in another direction?

If you put a good coat of wax on once in a while the brake dust just washes off.

As sticky as brake dust is, I imagine that a lot of it does accumulate on the back of the dust shield. But, I've seen cars that appear to not have been washed in a long time, and the accumulation is ugly but not that thick. So, I doubt that the shields would need emptying for a long, long time. Just my 2 cents.
