More complete video. Leftist called the police, they came, but didn't arrest anyone, which is disappointing. The full video shows the leftist definitely was the aggressor. There's video of the cops actually watching the video of what happened, the spitting, shoving, and punch by the leftist, and they still didn't arrest him. I could maybe see that if Maglight, the MAGAman or his people had called the cops. I'd figure that the guy had already suffered enough and let it go, but the leftist or his mommy called the police. They brought the police out, so I would have arrested him.

I happened to watch this yesterday, and I want to add that the cop said she was going to refer the case to another department, I think detectives?

Battery, unless a weapon is used, or there is severe injury is generally a misdemeanor. Peace officers generally speaking, cannot make an arrest on misdemeanors not committed in their presence. In most jurisdictions, in these cases, it is the right of a citizen to make a private person’s arrest. Maglite should have insisted on a private person’s arrest.

In some cases, this leads to a situation where the other citizen requests a private person’s arrest on the other person as well. This is often described as a mutual combat situation where they can either arrest each other or just drop the matter. In some cases, reports are taken on both sides and the City Attorney or District Attorney decides on filing.

In my opinion, the Trump supporters weren’t really pushing for a private person’s arrest as they felt Libby got what he deserved.

That sounds like a great way to stifle victims from pursuing criminal cases for things like this. So Maglight goes for the citizens arrest, backed up by the film, the leftist aggressor has nothing to lose by going for his own citizen's arrest against Maglight. Now Maglight, the victim, faces arrest, has to bail out, go through the whole court process, and then, ultimately, when he hopefully wins or has the case dismissed pre-trial, once a D.A. recognizes him as a victim, he's out more money to get the arrest expunged.

The process is the punishment. It really doesn't seem like a fair system.
