Cool

Your right about that! Great pic, very clear and close up! I like the squirrels pose.

I did not have time to snap the one in my yard today as I got home. He ran across my driveway in front of the Vette and off to the neighbors trees! No getting a shot of him!

Oh yea and my bird feeder is empty!

How far away from you was that shot?

Did Bandit see it?

Yep, Bandit saw him, but too late. Bandit was behind me and the squirrel took off along the the limb and up the nearest tree.

Probably a good 25 or so yards.
I was using the 55-250 lens, and had the zoom maxed out.

Here's the uncropped pic..

..and this is pretty much as far as I can crop it without it pixelating.
I learned that if I've got a lot of trees around, it's going to screw with the autofocus,
so I have to go manual with it.
That makes getting squirrels and birds while in a thicket a challenge.
They don't sit still long enough to get a good zoom and focus.
Just a few seconds more and I would have got even a better focus.
I wound up deleting a lot of photo's.

It's ok you had to delete a bunch of pics. In the process of taking all of them, you got the money shot!

I have a bunny rabbit that keeps coming into the neighbors yard and eating the grass. I want to get a pic of it but its always at night that I see it in out and about. So the lighting is not good for getting a pic. The street light is the only lighting.

Any ideas/recommendations?

Not a one. I have no experience at all with night shots. I would say a floodlight, but those things throw a lot of shadow, and it would probably scare away the subject anyway. I'm sure Thomas and Grey Ghost probably know how though.

If It's clear here tonight, I might try a few on the horses out in the Yadkinville pasture. The moon is still bright, which gives a nice outline effect on the animals. I just need to practice at getting those long, low-light exposures. I'll share anything I learn with you. (which may or may not be a good thing )

Cool

Crappy cell phone pics of Squirrel on Thquirrel's house! Squirrel is after my bird feeder food hanging on the corner of the front entrance!

Hoping to get a pic of it raiding the feeder!

Zoomed in pics turned out blurry!

I'd say he's got the route to that feeder figured out.

Red face

Last year found one ran over here on the street. Did not see any for a while until a month ago. Know for sure there are at least two in the neighborhood right now. Will not be surprised to find them ran over too. Lots of traffic around here.

Would not be surprised if you have another one show up soon to take its place.
