I'm sure they will have a few battery swap stations to serve their affluent metropolitan clientele. Whoopdee doo. What could go wrong? Perhaps they could serve cocktails and have masseuses there to help the owners kill some time while Rudy, the new hire, accidentally backs the fork lift into their sports car.

Swap take less than 90 secs, you pull on a platform, a machine pulls the old battery out and swaps in a new one.

Yes I'm sure the stations are going to be more prevalent in urban areas than rural areas. But with time there will be plenty to handle where ever you are at

They're just not ready for prime time as anything more than a novelty at the moment.
Tesla is much different from other electric cars. Their technology is much more efficient than current hybrids. Was actually in a rural area an saw a guy driving his tesla, he seemed to not be bothered. You can charge it in less than 20 mins with their super chargers. With your common wall unit it's a few hours. Don't for get you still can drie 280 miles on a full charge

For each station to be profitable, there would have to be a lot of Teslas on the road in the areas to be serviced

I'm not ok with the government giving handouts to poor people and subsidizing their failures. I'm sure as shit not ok with the government straight up funding expensive toys.

It's a cool car sure, but until it stands on its own, it's a failure.

And as long as minor fender benders are igniting the cars, they're also unsafe.

We're talking battery swaps, and quick charges, which are likely proprietary to Tesla

Of course they are.

Imagine a gas station that only serviced Jaguars. If you were lucky, you'd see the occasional tumble weed blow by.

That should be convenient for customers, in their down time they can pass out democratic campaign literature, EBT cards, and obamaphones.........and sign people up for Obamacare, if they have the website fixed by then
