Seems overpriced, I dount the very low miles make up the spread in price, article is dated March 2023:

https://www.hotcars.com/chevrolet-c4...%20the%20clock.

Quote:
The Corvette C4 ZR-1 is now very much worth a fortune. And depending on the mileage you can get lucky, or pay quite a lot. The average value for now is quite stable, with classic.com putting it just above $34,000. However, the most a C4 ZR-1 has gone for according to them is $101,000. Cars Remember When have a stunning 1995 Corvette ZR-1 for sale at $79,000 with just 151 original miles. You may sometimes be able to pay less though. A 1990 example sold for $26,000 on Bring a Trailer recently with 40,000 miles on the clock.
For $170K I would buy:

1) C5 Z06
2) used Blackwing
3) used Escalade

a C4 ZR-1 is a great car in many ways -- but I'm not sure that Lingenfelter's mods make it worth that huge premium.

MSRP on a 1995 ZR-1 was $68,603.

Anything over that is dishonest, immoral, and should be capped by the government.

I agree, no hits on searches for C4 Callaway Corvettes.
BUT, found this, 1991 ZR1 with 24K miles for $39K.
Based on this listing, I would deduce the Callaway options do not add $131K in value to the car.

Look folks.......you don't have to like em...........you don't have to pay what they are asking, but just shut your pie holes, because quite frankly most of you are just showing complete ignorance to what this car is........that car might be the yellow car, that Mario piloted to 218 MPH in 1998 besting the field in the Motor Trend Street Legal high speed shoot out. That field included a $1.7mil Mclaren F1; Two Hennessy Vipers; RUF Porshe; Lamborghini; Ferrari; and a Lingenfelter C5.....yes the C4 was the pinnacle of the class. I know this story well, because after the event, the engine out of the yellow car found its way into my White '94.........700HP of naturally aspirated thunder.........it sounds like the front row of a nascar event coming around the corner........remember, this was 26 years ago!!!!!! You will want to turn up the sound on these vids......these cars are on a performance level that most of you have never begun to experience, and they have to be experienced to fully understand, and be believed. Mario had nothing but glowing commentary on the C4....at least know what you are talking about.

The 90, 91, and 92's had 2 bolt mains. The 93, 94, and 95's had 4 bolt mains. I discovered this while shopping for one years ago when the only ones I could afford were the earlier ones, as there is a significant price difference because of this. The low mileage and the Lingenfelter aspect adds significant value, but not that much IMO.

That's completely badass, and thank you for the vids!

If this car had that provenance, one would think that the seller would be screaming it from the mountaintops.

Hmmmm.........I don't think the price difference is in the mains........more like Dunn heads......500 production number for the model year, as opposed to 3000 or so......and/or rare colors. a 2 bolt car performs essentially the same as a 4 bolt main car, in fact the '90s were the quickest due to being a bit lighter in stock trim....Ironically the '90 was the highest production number, but you tend to see them less or at least it seems that way, as they were a one year only body style

Agreed. I wasn't talking about this car specifically. I am talking about the $10-15k difference in the 2 generations when you go apples to apples. This is definitely a special car, just not a $170k special car. Not to me anyway. Doesn't really matter, because I couldn't afford it regardless.

Edit: I think we are both saying basically the same thing that comparing this vehicle to a 90 with 39k miles is absurd.

You would think.......I can't say for sure it is the same car, and really it doesn't have that engine in it anymore.......they transplanted a one off "event" engine in the yellow car, and then put the stock motor back in...although it was not the event engine, that car always had Lingenfelter 415 CI in it, which is a badazz engine......as I said "SW" bought the event engine, and installed it in the white car which I subsequently bought. That white car went 184 at the Texas Mile.......that is an insane # for a naturally aspirated car in the 90s....to put that in perspective, a supercharged stock C6 ZR1 will not post that number....actually 2 or three miles an hour slower, which we know at those speeds, 1 mile an hour is a huge difference in power.

I had 2 C4 ZR-1s and those videos made me a bit nostalgic. I'd like another but right now just isn't the right time to add another vehicle. The ol' C5Z06 will have to do for now.
