10 degrees right now...down to 0 tonight with another major storm tomorrow night into Wednesday. My daughter has been without power since 8am. My son in Dallas has had his power on and off all day. Strangely, no power interruptions here at all. My fireplace is gas as is my cooktop and water heater, but, since my house was built in 1947, the windows are single pane. The cold goes through those things like they were cheesecloth.

Yeah...lots of places colder than us, but the infrastructure for Texas isn't built for this kind of weather since we rarely have it.

Guess I'll go make some cauliflower mac and cheese.

Here in North East PA, we had freezing rain over night. Everything is iced over. Branches have broken off some of our trees. However, we should get up to 40* today, so the ice will melt quickly.

The weather-guessers were waffling on whether I would be on the rain side or the ice side of this one. We ended up on the rain side. I don't see any new ice outside at all, even our cars are clean. We got lucky on this one.
