I Need a New Doctor....

I have been going to my current Dr. for about 20 years, Monday I noticed I was about out of Insulin so I called the drugstore for a refill. I was out of refills, so they said they'd call the Dr's office.
I went today to get my Insulin and they said the Dr's office had not called them back. So now I have to go by the Dr. office tomorrow and beg them for a frigging refill, or I might be really, really sick by Monday, maybe in a coma.
This has happened before and I bitched to the Dr. about it and he said he'd make sure it didn't happen again. Well it's happened again.

First off always have a good weeks supply of meds. Second, when you go into the doctor's office kick him and his office staff for being azzhats. I go through this same thing every damn month because the doc won't give refills. No, it's not a controlled substance so there is no reason other than they like being on that soapbox that one of these days I will gladly kick out from under them.
Oops sorry for the tangent.
Anytime you don't have confidence with your doctor fire his azz and move onto someone that you do. There is no excuse to have to beg for your meds on a routine basis.

Your drugstore will always give you an emergency supply of life threatening Px's to tide you over, or just go to the emerg. at any hospital.
But.....you know all that all ready, don't you!

I've had this issue too. They prescribe meds that have serious withdrawals, then make it a PITA to get them.

I agree with building a supply. I've had issues with supply shortages of injectables. I go down hill fast without meds.

With Obamacare I fear it will only get worse.

Well, this time it is not directly the Dr's office fault. They did not get the refill request because their E-Script is down and can only get Faxed requests. I called the drugstore and requested a Fax to the Dr. Now hopefully the they will do it (I begged and pleaded and told them I would get very ill if I didn't get it refilled today) I also pleaded with the doctor's office to promptly return the approved request.
I also made an appointment with the doctor so I can jump his ass again about it, although like I said it isn't actually the office's fauilt. However they should have notified area pharmacies that their E-Script was down.
