MS Office Deactivated ?? What The ?????

So I went to use Excel today and it wants me to either enter a product key or add my puter to an active account.
I don't have a product key and am not sure how to add the puter to an active account.

Suggestions computer gurus ??

Install Libre Office.

The only time I have experienced this was when I had two versions of Office on my computer and accessed the wrong one.

Quite using unlicensed software?

Office 365 subscription allows you to install it on 5 computers, and only costs $99/yr. I have two of those subscriptions.

I guess I shouldn't have let my daughters and wife do all of their puters.

Happened on my laptop, fully licensed and drive went bad. Wouldn't even let me use the 30 day trial afterwards and I did a full restore from a recent backup. I don't use that often so don't care but most annoying when I do need it.

So how do I tell what version of Office 365 that I have?
I guess I'll just order it, but I want to be sure that the stuff that I already have will be good to go with the version that I get.

There is a software utility called "License Crawler" available here for free:http://www.klinzmann.name/licensecrawler.htm

Simply run it and get a list of all your serial numbers stored on the machine. When finished, look for your Office installation information on the report and re-enter the serial to see if it will accept it. If not, and you are sure you have a legit serial, you may need to contact MS to get it straighten out. Someone may have installed the same Office with your serial.

Was your puter purchased or did you build it yourself?
Did it come with office already installed?

Is it 365 that doesn't store anything on your PC, but the cloud instead? Or is it the programs that are on the cloud and you don't have those on your PC ?

You get the software, but storage is cloud based. You also have the option to cache your email files. Other files can be stored locally, too, for other programs.

All I no is that ****Fox took over and had an update/upgrade/whatever to install, so I figgered they been decent for some years now, and went for it, and sure enuff, it's a Cluster EFF......

and it took a bit of mulling over WTF, to find out how to dump the latest and greatest, and go back to the version that actually WORKED!!!!!
