My father used to pour his used motor oil in a hole in our back yard back in the 50's & 60's. I hope none of the subsequent owners ever tried to plant a garden there.

I remember in Car Craft back in the early 70's the had a article on what to do with used oil and anti freeze. Did a hole about 2-3' deep put gravel in it then a pipe. I also remember putting used oil and anti freeze down the sewer and raking leaves to the curd and burning them.

Used oil dug into the earth a few feet, I see no issue....it will rot like most vegetable material...given time....down the drains....un....NO!!! goes into the water, makes for lousey human use......

raking leaves to the curb and burning them?? no issue, never was, the ashes are a bit acid, I think, but no affect on anything...wash away with the rest of the plant waste.....

Oil came out of the ground, we are just putting it back. I don't see the problem...
