Default Who has me beat?

I drank 3/4th a fifth of tequila chased by a 12 pack of mike's hard lemonade last night.

Which one of you alcoholics has me beat?

Anybody who bought their booze with food stamps or wic, drank it in their section 8 housing, while blabbing on their o-phone long distance, has you beat.

I have been drinking professionally since I was 16, and one thing I have learned, is moderation.
I like to drink.
Its fun.
But had I drank the amount you speak of, I think my heart would explode, and my liver run for the hills.

Boasting about the amount of alcohol you can consume........

A fifth of tequila is 25.6 ozs., so 3/4 of a bottle is 19.95 ozs. Typical tequila is only 40 proof (20% alcohol), so 19.95 x 20% = 3.99 ozs. of alcohol.

Mike's Hard Lemonade has a 5.2% alcohol content. There are 11.2 ounces in a can, so 11.2 x 12 cans = 136.4 ounces. 136.4 ozs. x 5.2% = 6.82 ozs. alcohol.

Total alcohol consumed: 3.99 + 6.82 = 10.81 ozs. About 7 mixed drinks. Meh.

Typical tequila is 80 proof, or 40% alcohol.

I'm impressed.

I can do that on a weekend with some Natty Ice and vodka.

Then double it:

3.99 doubled is 7.98.
7.98 ozs. + 6.82 ozs. = 14.80 ozs. alcohol.

About 10 mixed drinks. Still meh.

Not exactly, counselor. You are equating a "drink" with the equivalent amount of pure alcohol. If a "drink" of hard liquor is 1.5 oz on average, then he was well over 7 mixed drinks just on the tequila alone. If you feel like 80 proof (probably the average alcohol content of most hard liquors) is too light, use a 2 ounce shot as a guide to what one "drink" looks like.
