Default Lost my gig today
2.5 years there, reorg of my district and I was the lucky headcount. This actually works for me as I haven't been happy in 6 months and have been planning a move. Now I get a little separation package to leave and a month off to "look internally".

I posted about looking for my next endeavor on Linkedin, my phone has been blowing up for hours. Good time to be looking in Tech.

It has been months of looking, although not necessarily that aggressively. This week turned out to be another roller coaster.

2 offers in hand, the preferred offer was minutes from being a done deal when the board of the company froze all hires temporarily. Un-****ing real.

I accepted the 2nd offer and start in about 2 weeks, hoping the preferred offer opens back up, the hiring manager was very upset that they stopped it. The hiring manager and his team were great, it was like we knew each other already.

Something is better than nothing, but only a little.

Agreed. This was a 45 minute interview with 5 people, an hour later I had the offer but waited a week to accept. The contract agency had never seen them move so quick and was surprised I took a week. The other offer was worth 50k more a year, which was why. And why I was unhappy about the situation.

Hopefully it comes back my way.

Sounds like what my next door neighbor does. He gets 1-2 year gigs to come in and clean up the disasters.

His recent contracts were with Estee Lauder, Santander, and another I can't mention due to a legal dispute.

It's extremely demanding work and often the answers they hired him to give are met with punishments and brow beating. wtf... lot's of stress.
