Food Poisoning...

I find myself saying this a lot because I must be getting older but I have never been this sick in my life.

It is allergy season and I love hot food so I went to our favorite Mexican. It is authentic and we usually are the only English speaking people in there.

It is super cheap, very good but I know they have to cut corners somewhere to make the prices what they are. I've left there feeling not great before but nothing like this.

I ordered the Carnita's Cascabel. Cascabel is not supposed to be that hot, as hot as the hottest Jalapeno but everything they make is super spicy.

I asked for Pico De Gallo along with it and when they put it down I knew I shouldn't have it. Looked a bit rough and aged but its not the same without it.

Felt great after I left, went to dinner, felt good.

Wake up about 2 am....not good...I probably lost 5lbs in about 60 minutes. Chills, shakes, muscle pain....

Once the trips to the bathroom subsided the muscle pain was extreme, as were the shakes and chills. Then came the fever which started at 100 and peaked at 102.5.

After a good round of vomiting to go with the return of the diarrhea it was all over in an instant. Fever broke, muscle pain went away, chills went away.

Food poisoning is the worst. Glad you are feeling better. My last bout was after eating out at an Italian joint many years ago. The drive home was white knuckled, cold sweat breaking out, clenching my cheeks as hard as I could. Made it home and into the bathroom, where I stayed for about three hours. It was horrible.

Got food poisoning a couple years back at Subway, it was nasty, have not ate there since.

I take Pepto tablets on my way out the door more times than not. It has failed me a couple times, but probably saved me more.

It's usually all about staging and food left to get to room temperature.

My friend who worked for Sysco foods spent a lot of time in a lot of kitchens and told me if I knew what most looked like, I'd never eat out.

Over the course of time I have had a few cases of food poisoning.

For me its rather predicable, first thing is I get a Excedrin #1,000 headache.

Then my stomach starts acting up. then a real serious throw up and server bout of diarrhea. After about a 10 minute break I'm back to normal.

I love stuffed clams and had not had them in maybe 30 years. Last year I
bough at pack. Later on that night, was the same shit you guys have gone through.

Wife and I both got food poisoning in Hawaii in February. We believe it was from raw Tuna from a buffet at Polynesian Cultural Center. Luckily we were back at hotel when symptoms hit. I got it first and it felt like I was a fire hose it was coming out to violently. Started about 11:00 PM. AM ended up in urgent care on an IV. Got back to the hotel and all of a sudden Becky gets hit hard with same. She refused to go to urgent care since right after I got back from there I threw up again. I was pretty much over it in a little over 24 hours but it took her a good three days to feel halfway normal again

I've had food poisoning twice. Once eating War Wonton Soup. I couldn't eat it for almost ten years after that. And once eating bacon. I feel your pain.

Finally....over 24 hours from last nausea pill and 22 from Imodium.

Had food for the first time this morning too.

Doc told me 72 hours and I never would have believed him yesterday morning but almost to the hour.
