Mitt Romney should have won based on the economic realities. EVERY past challenger in an economic climate that bad or worse had won. When Obama got his ASS KICKED in the 1st debate, which was the economy focused debate, I just knew it was over and Romney had won. When Obama cam out the very next day and pivoted to social issues with a big WOMENS HEALTH banner behind him, I laughed. It wouldn't work.






It worked.

Even the exit polls showed a majority of voters though Romney was better suited on the economy. And these same voters reelected Obama.

We reached the tipping point in 2012. Reality doesn't matter in elections. Propaganda does. Northeast liberal Mitt Romney, and incredibly palatable and safe choice for any leftists ready to admit Obama's failure, was propagandized as a right wing lunatic who would ban abortions among other things.

And now here comes 2016, a new test for our new reality. Will an even bolder, more audacious propaganda campaign work as well? Are we literally so collectively stupid as a country that the Democrats can convince a plurality of voters to vote for Weekend at Bernies for President?

Gary may be the lesser of the three evils though.

But it was too late for an independant to try and surge (this would of been more successful had this effort of been vigorously started back in 2014 or early 2015).

The Libertarian party (or any 3rd party) needs 25% of the registered voter base in their camp... even before there's an election year. The Dems and Republicans have well over that amount; and can guarantee 3rd party losses in all national elections - due to the math alone.

If you take the Libertarian percentage... and give them all of the remaining independant votes, they still don't reach a winnable percentage over either of the main two parties.

For those wanting the Libertarian party to become a valid political force, you need to start a serious effort 2 years before the next national election; and they need to have 25-30% of registered voters in their camp already by the time that election year starts (by Jan 1).

No, they really think that, en masse, the American electorate is stupid. Why wouldn't they? I mean, both parties have been shitting all over us with essentially unrestricted immigration for decades while lying about caring about it and lying about wanting to do anything about it. And they were getting away with this with zero problem until Trump came along. It benefited the Democrats because all they had to do was make it so that losing a national election was about as unlikely as losing a senate seat in California is now. Just import enough (D) voters who want lots of free government cheese, done and done. On the Republican side, you can get reelected by acting like you want to stop illegal immigration and then do absolutely nothing about it while saying you really want to stop it while secretly helping out your rich donors who want these cheap laborers. And they did the math and decided that they could do this their whole political career and retire before the nation was so fundamentally transformed that they'd no longer get elected.

This has been what this entire election is about. I've only brought it up about a zillion times. Both parties had been getting away with this game for 30+ years, actually more like 50 years. So Trump named this issue, said he wanted to build a wall, and amazingly that only resulted in the most votes in history in a Republican primary and a hostile takeover of a major party, along with flushing out all the schmucks who've been in on this con since forever.

Ho ho. Let's say, by some miracle, Gary Johnson won this election. He's pro-open borders. So another 20 million illegal immigrants come across the border during his (let's be super generous) two terms. OK.
