Default Vacation Planning - LA to San Diego
We're planning on flying into LA, staying in an Air-BNB in Malibu for 2 days, and then driving down to San Diego in April. We'll fly home from San Diego.
We'll probably do the Universal studio tour too, as I did it back in the '80's and really enjoyed it.
We're just going to stay in Air BNB's in SanDiego too. No hotels this go around.
Any suggestions for the drive down Rte 1 to San Diego after we're out of the hellish LA traffic?

To get to SD, I'd suggest the 405 at 5pm on a weekday.

Once you get to Orange County you should be OK as far as traffic goes. It's an easy peasy drive. My sister used to live near Laguna Beach (a place called Dove Canyon) and the drive from her place to San Diego was always a pleasure.

I've been to Laguna Beach and have done that drive. It is beautiful. I've done LA to Laguna as well.

My wife and her sister were born in LA back in 1964 & 1965.
They lived in North Hollywood on Delano Street.
They moved here after an earthquake in 1970.
It scared the hell out of them.
