Trickle chargers...
Like some of us, I'm guilty of not driving my old cars enough: 1 months turns into 3 months, then 6, and the battery is dead. I don't own a trickle charger, so are they the way to go? Do you have any recommendations? The good news and the bad news about them, etc.?

Yeah, a battery tender device is worth its weight in, uh, lead acid. Seriously.

I have used them many times. Buy the one that plugs into the light plug in the car. I've never had an issue with them.

Have two going right now, on the C3, and on my buddy Phil's C7.
Use three more for yard equipment winter lay up. All work well for it's intended use.

OK to do on cars from about the 90's or earlier, not for modern vehicles so much. If they even have a cigarette lighter plug, often it isn't powered unless the key is in the ignition/AC position. And if keyless? Forget it!

I use a battery tender on my vette that will set in the garage for 4-5 months. Never had a problem.

If you can't drive them all in one month you own too many. Dibs on the TR6!

Bad news? Knock offs can burn your vehicle/house/garage down. I have two battery tender juniors on my 1968 cub cadet 125's all the time. Not only will they fire off right away but battery life is extended many times. I used to have to get batteries every year but with having the battery tenders on them, I'm getting at least 4 years out my batteries. |

Works on my 09, but the C6 is probably one of the last vehicles with a cigarette lighter, heck my 10 Colorado doesnt have one

I thought that was stupid as hell to. What they failed to clarify is that they plug into the lighter socket to send power to the battery but the tender is plugged into the wall. I had to google that!
