I just left a post there and an offer to help out where I can. Like I said there, if they haven't done so they need to get to the Salvation Army where they can get all sorts of supplies.

In this thread? I also saw nothing over there after my post saying that I posted the link here and on FB. This thread was on page 2 when I brought it back so those not out enjoying the weekend might see it.

AWESOME!!! Thanks buddy!

I have been contacted by members of both sites. Really great to see everyone come together and offer a helping hand to a family they don't even know.
Your all GREAT! That goes for those on both sites.

This is a COPY of what I posted a short time ago on the other site.

Responded to all the e-mails I have received.

Cybercowboy, glad mom is OK!
My wife sent you a PM/email with my nieces husbands phone number His name is Chris.

So many of you have contacted me and sent items, gift cards, money, prayers. THANK YOU so very much for opening your hearts to our family.
Elizabeth asked that I thank all of you for making sure that her family, a family you have never met was as comfortable as possible during this struggle.
When her life becomes somewhat normal again and she has computer access, I'll send her a link to our forum.

Her husband Chris, is back to work in JOPLIN.
They have applied for permanent housing and are awaiting the response on their application now.
With your help, they have started rebuilding their lives. They are in good spirits and embracing the new beginning...

Bob

If you can, send me a PM with her info and what size clothing they wear - I'll hit up a couple places this week and at least send those kids some clothes. Just glad they are all safe.

Least I can do since I am too broke to help out. Just when I think I am getting back to where I can help, something breaks. I'll take those breaks over going through what the people of Joplin and Tuscaloosa (and surrounding areas) are going through.

Awesome, Thank You! We are very happy they are all alright as well. This storm was so bad for so many, our family was blessed to have only lost things that can be replaced.

Giving of yourself is also giving. Sometimes help is not about giving tangible things, but of spreading the word. Your posting here has inspired others. We thank you as much as any other person that has helped. Each of you is equally important during this time of need.

Thanks Jason!!!!
I think the Visa would be great as it can be spent anywhere for whatever they need. I'll be sending a few Visa Cards to her on Thursday from members of both forums.

Heavy burden lifted off their shoulders Brent. Thank You for such generosity! There is really no way to thank you and your wife enough.

This will give you the chills. Someone had a camera rolling at the gas station around the corner from our nieces place. Sounds, not much video....

This is the gas station those folks were in. OMG
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

The building our niece and her kids were rescued from.
Photo taken after their rescue with her phone.

Sure does man. Both the video and the still shot.
The apartment complex in the still photo was her place. 2nd floor is where their apartment was and where they were found.

Finally got to speak with Chris today. On behalf of his family, he says thank you for the outpouring of support. He said any items which they cannot use will NOT be kept. They will be given to others that are in need.
They secured a 3 bedroom apartment not far from where they lived. It's being redone now and he hopes to be in next week or so.
He sounds great and his outlook on the future is wonderful.

Thanks to all of you for making this worst of time comfortable for them.

FYI those of you that have sent anything. Postal service is a wee bit slow and items sent 2 weeks ago arrived today. As soon as they can compile a list of who sent anything, I will let you know that it made the trip safely.
Thanks again to each and every one of you!

Update on their situation.
Chris is back to work (only lost 2 days I think) They are staying in a room at sister in-laws house somewhere outside Joplin. I don't recall the name but it's about an hour away.
The van they have had a transmission failure on his way to work on Friday morning. One of our great FORUM MEMBERS was there to take him to get a rental AND make sure the van would be repaired AND helped him out with cash!

Today their new place was to be ready. Turns out the management company needs another week to get the place in order. Soooo that means everything we are all sending gets stashed in that 1 room for another week.
Disappointed yes, but thankful for the outpouring of love and support. They have wonderful positive attitudes and are looking forward to the future and getting life back in order.

Thanks to all for making their difficult time, a much easier time....
