This is walnut and had been previously standing dead for a few years.

Shall I chainsaw you a chunk and mail it to you? ( so your mail carrier hates me? )

The branches are off, I'm into the 20"-24" diameter section now

My lathe can only handle 12” diameter blanks.

If you send me a chunk, I’ll try to make you a bowl out of it. I can trim things down on my bandsaw.

One 32 lb box is on it's way.

The packing on the bottom ( opposite label ) is a catalog from www.surpluscenter.com

Plenty of stuff in there ( pulleys, V belts plus much more)

A genuine DAB made bowl sits in my TV room. It is normally used as a place of repose for a set of Nikon binoculars used for watching birds here on the island.
