MDDLT1 got a new tool
Mike ordered a Quicklift a few weeks ago, but with the car events of the last several weeks, it took a while to get the lift to his house. It arrived the other day and we put it together tonight. Went together very easily and seems like good quality and engineering. Very few moving parts.
Here are the pics Uncrated and ready for assembly The ramps are assemble upside down and the length is determined, Mikes are at 14 ft. The black pipe is slid inside some sleves in the ramps, this will be used to raise the rear of the ramps with a floor jack. The sliding jack bridge is in place, this will allow a bottle jack to be used to raise the front or rear weels for maintainence, and the front of the ramps are pinned to the stands that will support the front of the ramps [ Here is a side shot of the assembled lift, more like ramps at this point. Took a little convincing to put the 05 on the lift, but Mike conceded and I guided while he got the feel of driving on the lift. We wil have to wait to lift the rear, Mike has a deal on a jack that will give enough height to lift the rear of the ramps and let the legs drop to support the lift, but that wont happen for a week or so. In the meantime I had to remind him people in West Virginia park on hills all the time with little to no problems. This lift will not replace a 2 or 4 post lift, but for a limited space and simple maintainence, and detailing, I think it will serve that purpose. Well the jack showed up sooooo.... [/IMG] Here it is raised We used the jack bridge to raise the front end Mike is making sure everything is secure. We used a 2x4 to protect the front cradle. Another pic of the jack stand/ bridge THe front wheels are off and ready for brake work, cleaning, or any other reason. I kidded Mike about the rusty rotors, he imediatly started cleaning and detailing. We took the front tires off to see how difficult that task would be, and to tell the truth, it was not that bad at all. So if you guys need a simple way to change oil or brake work. contact Mike, he is always willling to help. Last edited by pops98; 11-14-2010 at 6:11pm. Reason: Updated |

Thanks Rodger for your help on the assembly, nice pics too. I,m looking forward to get that jack we talked about to get the whole lift off the floor. Oh BTW I checked on the car and lift this morning and IT IS still like we left it last nite. heck maybe I didn't need to order a kwiklift, just move to West Virginia.

Mike I updated the photos and I hope you are ready to be popular with all the oil changes and brake work that will soon be scheduled at your garage.
