Regarding FJ40s, yes they are crazy expensive, as are many older SUVs. If you have one, sit on it!

I think the FJ's have been popular and collectable for 20 yrs. now. Fully restored models in the $40k plus range. They look cool.

The price issue is interesting. Given that we aggregate the prices from other site (including cars on line and many others) the prices we show are a large bell curve of the actual prices out there. Yes, all of these cars are for sale and not sold, so the ultimate price is what someone is willing to pay for it

How would you guys want to deal with the high prices? Like, would a sort by particular price be best? Would a function that determines the average price and only shows you cars within a certain range of that price be best? Let me know.

One word of advice when it comes to searching, start broad and narrow down. Search, looks at titles not smaller details such as engine size or important package that you may be interested in. Keep the suggestions coming. Have a great weekend!

I like the CL option of private seller vs. dealer. There will always be a big price difference between those two. I never buy from a dealer.

I do have one,with the steel tub intact and no diamond plating on it.Factory A/C also.Slow road getting it back on the road with using factory parts or getting items rebuilt like the carb and maybe the starter just to try to keep it as original as possible,but it will be worth it.
