Too much incorrect info in this post to attempt to correct. Almost all new cars in the 70s came with summer tires. Now all new cars come with all season tires. I guess we're back in the 70s. Go back to your igloo, get another COVID booster, and let the adults discuss this.

My reference to them was as an upgrade from the summer tires way back and nothing more.

About 70% of Canadians switch to winter tires…..not because of deep snow. Insert dunce cap <here>

Over the last 25 years, I've had 3 Explorers. I have run all-season tires on all of them. It doesn't snow very often here, but when it does, we have gotten as much as 3 feet. As long as I wait for the roads to get plowed, I have NEVER had a problem with getting stuck in the snow. A few times I have had to switch to 4wd to get up slick hills, but that is it. WTF puts "snow tires" on their cars anymore?

I remember I did have a set of "snow tires" for my bugs back in the '80s. Those cars were so good in the snow, I never felt I needed to put them on, but the tires were practically new when a friend of mine gave them to me, and I had an extra pair of wheels, so I would usually throw them on sometime in December.

The answer to your question in red appears to be Canucks and Tesla owners in Florida.

We lived in western CO for 25 years, drove to ski areas and on moderate 4WD trails, and never needed snow tires. Go figure.

A fwd sedan struggled in the snow? No shit.

How about you take a break from your normal with the deflection and stick to the topic. The topic is not a Nissan sedan. It’s trucks. I have driven through Ohio, northern Indiana, and Chicago winters with plenty of snow for my entire life. I have never had anything other than all season tires on any truck or SUV, and I have never had any trouble driving them. None.

I don’t know of a single person who changes tires on a truck or SUV for the winter. It sure as hell isn’t the “normal” thing to do.

All Season tires may work fine in a little bit of snow but in blizzard conditions, they are not safe. if you live in an area with possible blizzard conditions, it would be dangerous to run all season tires while in a blizzard. As I said, I lived my first 26 years in Austria and you are REQUIRED to have actual winter tires during the winter. Huge difference in snow performance. In strong winters with icy conditions, we even kept a set of studded tires.

Stop. Deflecting.

Holy shit. Who in the f**k is talking about blizzards? Do you ever actually stay on topic? We're not talking about f**king blizzards that happen on very rare occasions, Austrian winters, Nissan sedans, etc. This isn't Austria.

We are talking about Cybertrucks that are failing miserably in even small amounts of snow and as such apparently need a second set of dedicated wheels and tires to even further reduce the range in conditions that normal trucks and SUVs have absolutely no issues with. Any comment on that? I'm guessing not.

You change issues with towing into "regularly hauling large loads cross country". Driving in minimal snow becomes about Austrian blizzards. You are absolutely incapable of discussing something without resorting to completely asinine exaggerated strawman arguments to try to defend your beloved Tesla.

Small amounts of snow??? The Video does not show "A SMALL AMOUNT".
That's A LOT OF SNOW...
There is another video of a Cybertruck racing a F150 Raptor in the snow on the street and the Cybetruck just pulls away.

When we have blizzard conditions here, I stay home until the weather improves.

If I am not mistaken, studded tires have been illegal around here since the '80s due to the damage they do to the roads.

So that's a no on the whole stop deflecting thing. Thanks for the clarification...

We haven't even gotten to that part.

I swear Elon makes shit as hideous as possible just to prove he has enough control over his followers to get them to buy it anyway.

Install all season tires on any other truck and try to drive it in the same exact condition as seen in this video and you'll get the same results. I doubt that a F150 SuperCrew on all season tires would be able to handle that situation any better.

What in the actual hell are you even talking about? The roads aren't even covered and what is covered is just slush. Is that really your idea of a "blizzard"? I'd sure as hell hope that the thing could make it through that. I just spent most of the week with that much snow in Boston. I was in a freaking Kia Soul. Even that thing had no issues.

Install all season tires? They already have them... and they do just fine.

If you can't drive a normal vehicle through that amount of snow, the issue isn't the vehicle or the tires. It's the person driving it. And as I say it, that is actually most likely a very true statement when it comes to Tesla owners. There is no doubt that the people who buy a Tesla are the same people going 20 mph with their flashers on when there are flurries. Because "it's not safe".

It's actually snowing here now. I guess I better go put the studs on the Escalade!!

Maybe you are referring to a different video but I thought that this was about the video in this post:

I was referring to the dumbass racing video.

With that said, I have zero question that any of my Yukons or the Escalade could drive through that (and I have driven in similar conditions in all of them)

The only thing that may have an issue is the dually, because of the weight. See how that works? I am able to acknowledge that something has a weakness. In the case of big diesel dually trucks, deep snow is an issue.

And I have no question that any 4wd F150 would make it through that on the factory tires.
