Default No Tesla threads here?

Just went over to the other side to look around. Nothing but vanilla pudding or pablum on Wonder Bread. Very kinder and gentler; even UD doesn't argue for fear of getting banned. BUT, they do have a Tesla thread over there, as busy as ever (except no JoesC5). I like Teslas.

I like Teslas as well.

American company, American manufacturing, American jobs. Incredible innovation.

I don't like idiots who think Tesla's autopilot feature is full autonomous driving capability, because it's not, and it tells drivers that it's not. So those drivers are stupid, and I'm not generally favorable towards the stupid.

I'd be more interested in TESLA if there werre more charging stations (say, install them at gas stations) and I could grab a charge in about the same time as it took me to fill my truck's gas tank.

30 minits to fill your tank?? my last Dodge van has 36 gallons on board....stock as a stove too......took twice as long as the Vette......

FILL time that is.....so maybe 5 minits??? 12 minits total time???

Why would you need to charge during the day?

Do you drive more than 250 miles? Remember, you're probably leaving your garage each day with a full tank.

But if you do regularly drive more than 250 miles in a day, Tesla probably isn't for you.

No Tesla (yet), but I am the proud owner of a 2020 Bolt - the best EV short of a Tesla.

Glad to see the Tesla love is still around. Just got back from a long trip to N.C. The only charging time that was a pain was in Ga. where the only charger for a long while on 95 was in the parking garage in Savannah Airport. 8 chargers, 2 out of service and the rest filled, mostly by those poor Model 3 Teslas. They should have their own chargers and leave us high dollar car owners alone. There was a line waiting for a space and I was the 6th. When we had been charged up and leaving there were 12 in line and it had taken about 1 1/2 hours to wait and charge. While charging, we went into the airport and got some ice cream at $3.30 a scoop and it wasn't even that good. The airport info desk did validate our parking ticket though, after I had to show them my Tesla key. No waiting at any other Tesla charger on the trip. Not as good as I would have liked but no problem either. We simply went to a restaurant while charging everywhere else.

What happens when your car is fully charged, you're not around to move it, and there's a line of people behind your car waiting their turn to charge up?

When I lived in an apartment long ago, if there were clothes in the dryer already finished and no one was around, your stuff got unceremoniously piled up on top of the dryer.....unfolded.

Every BEV has a smartphone app that will notify you when your charge is complete, so unless you're a complete dick you won't be making anyone wait longer than necessary.

this is one of my objections - recharge wait time/location

we do a regular trip from NM up to WY about twice a year. we stop over in Cheyenne each way. stay at the same hotel each way. there is an Exxon gas station about 1/2 mile away, so we top off there when we arrive. filling the 36 gallon tank takes about 8 minutes, then fetch dinner, back to the hotel, call it a night.

what do i do with wife and doggie and all our stuffs if i have to go somewhere downtown and wait 2 hours for the battery to charge up. i really don't want to just wait around doing nothing. and it's not like i can park it at the charging station and walk back to the hotel the 5 or so miles away.

oh, and the truck (it would have to be a truck, not a car) has to be able to make it from NM to Cheyenne in one 10 hour day, including midway stops. it's only 480 miles.

Many hotels have charging points, so before you go to bed you plug your car in and it'll be fully charged when you leave the next morning.

I rent a car for road trips. Their car, their problem if it breaks, rentals very close to even on cost when you figure wear/tear, mileage, etc.

Just got done booking one for a quick trip to SHOT Show in Vegas in a couple weeks. I could fly, or drive at company expense, but this way I have a car while there and don't have to deal with air travel.

$90 to put 1,000 miles on their car? Deal. $.09/mile.
