The guy who just sold it, got a letter from Steve McQueen asking to buy it back in the day. He never replied but kept the letter.

I of course heard of it, but never watched it on tv. I don't see an equivalency. there was one Vietnam where untold thousands got injured and killed. bullitt is one little movie out of god knows how many were made before I was born.

I grew up in a poor house with one tv, and was homeless for a while. I never knew what cable was until after I bought my own house and a friend connected it for me bootleg.

I cant see I ever saw that before, although I think the part where the car jumps over the hill may have been part of an old bank commercial. I assume the steve dude is the guy they kept showing the side of his face???? never saw him before either. thanks.

Back a few years before kids were born.....the ex and I went to SF and across the Bay to Oakland? and stayed in a rental on a hillside SO steep, it was like a cliff.....we walked the entire streets of SF one day, some sort of GG Bridge party/anniversary going on....so this be 40 years ago.....

I see that chase scene and it really brings back memories of that day we got off the train into SF and went to the right, along the bay and up to underneath the Bridge, and then we in some cab/etc/tour bus? to see Lombard st from up top....went to a famous Chinese place for lunch, walked out the front of the place and to the right was a hillside straight down and an office building to the left/other side from restaurant....and we looking into like the 10th floor at some secretary at her office desk , not a block away.....

Musta been a HELL of an impact, that meteor that formed the Specific Ocean and blew the planet into it's present form.....wooda been fun to watch from outer space.....
