Ford employees ask the company to stop making police cars

Whether they continue to build Police vehicles or not the damage may already be done.
If I were in charge of vehicle procurement for a department the thought of disgruntled assembly workers "forgetting" to add or tighten fasteners, leave drink bottles or tools in body cavities to cause rattles or the like would give me pause. A very good friend is a LEO and his response to the news of unrest at the company was immediate disqualification for new Fords in his department. I imagine he is not the only LEO of similar opinion.
