Default Maintenance records

I have been keeping my service records on my Ram on the Mopar app. It has been upgraded to a POS replacement on which I cannot find my records.

Does anyone use an app to record maintenance? I do my own oil changes, fuel and air filter replacements, etc. Do I go back to the analog days and keep a pen and notebook?

Well one benefit of manually keeping records is in the time of selling the vehicle you can easily share your information and offer it as part of the package to the perspective buyer, which I’m guessing would be considered a good value added service by many.

I still write my maintenance intervals in the owner's manuals.
I also have a chart on the garage wall for back-up records,
and for cars and cycles that I don't have manuals for.

I yell at clouds too.

I just keep all maintenance or oil change records in a big envelope in the glove box.

It's a skill.

I used to write everything down on paper but now I use the Carfax maintenance app. Enter your car and it keeps up with registration, oil changes, tire rotation, etc. Plus it's there for anyone who buys the car to look up the car's maintenance history.

I've been using a spreadsheet since 1985. Here's the last one I did for my Jeep.

Doesn't work that way as an avid DIYer. I buy filters in bulk from Rock Auto and oil when it goes on sale at Costco. When the odometer gets near a 5000 mile increment I do the work and update the spreadsheet.

I utilize the ColorNote App on Android.
Very easy to create a new file, very easy to add to existing files, appears to have unlimited character storage.

I do not have a backup in the cloud, which is why I will keep my phone for as long as it works, as the idiots at the phone store will advise the data transfer is good for all app data stored, but you cannot trust them.

I keep everything on this app, EVERYTHING, include account numbers, log-in info, car data, my scotch collection, my bourbon collection, paypal and gmail info, etc...

It is simple, easy to use, free, always nearby on your phone, but obviously no real way for a third party to validate.

Me too.....you may never meet a new owner if you trade the car in to pass on some "cloud" based maintenance database. Most just peruse the stuff anyway just to confirm the previous owner was diligent then get bored unless there is some special thing they are looking for.

I just write down whatever I do in the back of the owners manual with date. There is usually a few pages in the back for notes. If I have any receipts I put them in the glove box as well.
The Corvette on the other hand has it's own folder on a self in the garage. It's about 3 inches thick.

I used to keep records in a Franklin Planner with a fountain pen. Now it's pretty much a label under the hood. I tend to keep my vehicles forever, though, and my level of maintenance speaks for itself. My 'newest' vehicle is my '05 Tundra, which I've had for 7 years and will likely have for the rest of my life.
