What are the walls going to be built with? And how are they attached to the slab?

2x6, 24" OC, anchor bolts between studs, 24" OC, sunk at least 8" into concrete.

little shrinkage cracks are normal. they'll fill with dirt and sawdust in due course.

This could be the dumbest question on the interwebs today...but does it get really windy where you are? I am assuming such a substantial wall structure was designed with that in mind.

Side question...How tall are your walls and ceiling going to be?

yes, it does get windy here. very windy some days.

walls are 12 feet, peak of roof is 15 feet. 12 foot interior clearance.

I had a job in law school for a concrete company. My duty was inspection/quality control. One huge job had lots of cracks in the concrete, and I couldn't pacify the contractor. He wanted the slab ripped out and repoured.

I went to my boss, Brock Day, the President of the company and a 6'7" tall 290# guy. He accompanied me to the job site and looked around before saying, "Wood warps. Concrete cracks." We got int the car and drove away.

You should put a fallout shelter under that. It looks like it could sustain a direct missile hit and not dent the concrete. Just put a change order in for an underground bunker, with a hole in the concrete for a thick metal hatch and another for filtered air.

That should be tall enough for you to sling all the wood you want in there!

Just saying...you may not get a ton of use out of it, but the next home owner would. Would be a great selling point for you or your executor when the property is sold. Just my advice...but remember what you paid for it!
