Default Hello I am new to this discussion and a new corvette owner of a 2003 50th anniversary

My bright light switch does not work when pushing it forward. It does work when pulling it towards me for the temporary brightness though. Any suggestions on a fix?

Welcome to the Vette Barn.

You probably won't get too many responses, as we mostly bullshit in the Off Topic section.

But if the high beams work with the flash to pass feature, there is likely some crud in the steering column, around the turn signal stalk. Try blowing it out with a can of compressed air. If that doesn't work, you'll need to disassemble the housing to clean it.

Oh, and pics of C5? Or wife? Or girlfriend? Or both?

If you have ever disassembled a stalk, you'd find the wires are VERY small and most likely one of them broke. It could be mechanical as well. You really won't know until you take it apart OR if you know someone with a C5, switch theirs and see if it feels different. If it fells the same, I'd look for a wire issue. If it clicks differently, look for a mechanical issue with the stalk or switch.

First question is if ya push forward does it click and lock? If open column, replace with new switch and try before final install

If still doesn’t work - wiring, but that could also if switch latches and no brights

Wiring or fuse?

Thanks for your help. I’ll try it. The switch definitely pushes forward and locks in place. I guess I’ll try the easy things first.

That's a nice C5, I've always liked that color
