you will very rarely find me anywhere, even at home as i type this now without a gun on me.

LCP at the very very very least, usually an M&P Compact .357sig and when the proper attire and weather allows, 1 of my many 1911's

"LAWRENCEVILLE — The Duluth woman who fatally shot an armed intruder in her home last week told an emergency operator that she “just shot him as much as I could” as she unloaded an entire clip at her assailant.

On Wednesday Gwinnett County police released the frantic 911 call by the 53-year-old woman turned folk hero, who lived alone and shot 34-year-old Alpharetta man Israel Perez Puentes up to a dozen times on the morning of May 11.


Perez entered the home on E. Mount Tabor Circle that morning as she was exiting the shower, grabbing her at knifepoint and forcing her into a bedroom, where police believe he planned to sexually assault her. She managed to get her .22-caliber handgun during the assault and shoot Puentes.

She told officials that she chased Puentes out a sliding glass door as she fired, locking the door and fleeing to a neighbor’s house as soon as he was outside.

Not yet knowing her unknown assailant was going to die, the victim called 911 from a neighbor’s house and told an operator that she regretted not using her more powerful .38-caliber weapon.

“I thought he was going to rape me and kill me,” she said, alternately screaming and sobbing. “I got him but only with a .22, he was still walking. I should have gotten him with the other (gun). I couldn’t find it.”

“He could have killed me,” she continued. “He had a knife and he turned the lights off. I can’t go back there.”

She said she lied and told Puentes during the assault that she “had a child and had money” to try and get him to stop.

“He said, ‘Just be quiet, just be quiet,’” she told the operator.

On the call, the victim speculated that her attacker was “waiting for her to put my cat outside” to get into the sea green, single-story home.

Puentes was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center where he later died, police said. The victim, who repeatedly told 911 operators how much her back hurt from falling in the tub, was also taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Police are viewing the victim’s actions as justifiable force, and she is not expected to face charges."
