Of course, the forum is always going to have its apologists. It's the people who always tell others to turn the other cheek that wind up being the ones screaming for justice the loudest when they get screwed.
What gets me is they apparently add to it without you getting a warning or a ban. So the infraction is ignored in the moment, but added to the file for future use.

After you were banned, in an effort to be more transparent, they went back to a points system that means jack shit.

IIRC
I got 5 points and a week ban.
After the first expired I got 5 more points and a month ban.

Here's the thing: It's a game that no one ever wins. This isn't high school or your job or the local police station where a docier needs to be kept every time you fart the wrong way. It's an internet car forum. When you take it this seriously, you need to let go.

I'm sure you saw the guidelines thread I put up. Pretty simple, right? And everyone seems to do just fine behaving themselves without me or the rest of the mod staff walking around like a bunch of e-thugs threatening constantly.

I mean...those people over there are some seriously damaged goods. Poor Jesse...wrnging his hands and sending out long, drivel-filled Emails as though he's a middle manager at IBM. He's like a kid who sells lemonade on a card table in front of his house sending his mom a memo saying he needs more lemons (of course, if the police academy had a real business school, he'd know long-winded memos are not effective). And Jim is about as petty as it gets (you can't ride with us because YOU don't have a black car. What a little toad). Most of the mods and members at CF talk about VB as though we're some fourth-tier chatroom, but damned if we haven't caught them trolling here time and time again.

So don't get mad...poke the bear once in awhile and come back here to laugh about it!

Oh, I'm not angry. If there is an emotion connected with the situation over there it is disappointment. A few people ruin a forum that was once a truly great place and for no more reason than ego masturbation.

C'est La Vie.

Poking the bear doesn't even have any draw anymore. It just seems too easy. You begin to feel like a bully, picking on special needs kids.

For what it's worth, I have more cars that are from other manufacturers than I do Vettes. All are welcome...Vette or no Vette.

Couldn't have said it better. And I know just how you feel about the poking. It's too easy.

Remember when users used to accrue or lose points, and the point totals were visible?

scorp508 stayed at "-11" for freaking ever, it was a big joke. And I think - Phil, weren't you at -999 or somesuch, for PR&C hijinks, and that was pretty funny too?

Hey Neece, I've been there with the kidney stone thing. Had them the first time in 2001, two attacks two weeks apart. No problems again until last year. From Feb to May I made five trips to the ER. Damn things were killin' me!! Got to where the last time I went in I just picked up the clipboard, started filling it out, and telling the triage nurse which medications I needed! The reason they hurt so bad is they look like little spiked balls if you see them magnified. As the pass through they tear at the walls of your kidneys and all the way out your system. That's why there's usually blood in the urine too. Most people get lucky, pass them, and don't realize it until the pain hits. That's what my first few did. The last couple were as you described, complete with sweats, chills, nausea and vomiting. The last two were the most intense pain I've ever had. That crap will put you on the floor in the fetal position!
I also took part in a urine study to try to find the problem. Turns out my issue is I don't drink enough liquids to keep them flushed and everything settles, forming stones. I go every six months now. Due again in March. I still have a couple of small ones in the left side, but they only occasionally move around, and I'm not lettin' nobody go in to get them. I know the route!!! If they get really bad again I might consider it, but for now I'll deal with the occasional pain.
Glad you're better, and I sincerely hope you stay that way.
