amazing what eating better can do. i haven't 'worked out', just walking every day with idiot doggie and eating better.
Yes - my diet has changed drastically and I drink almost no carbs or sugars. Pretty much water and whole milk - sometimes almond milk if I find a deal on the vanilla flavored.

Food is basically baked fish or chicken, no beef - and over on the other side I was eating a lot of fish and squid and whatever else was on the table daily. Hell, I didn't really care over there since meals were 75% rice anyway

similar. lots of chicken breasts (heh, heh, he said breast) , fish, some pork chops now and then, and the last of some venison from my dad (no cholesterol). looking at a source of bison this year, also no cholesterol. most dinners are a small meat portion, 4 oz or so, rice or pasta in some form, veggies, and maybe slice of homemade bread with butter or honey.

drinks: water with some crystal light flavoring (0 cals), one large cup coffee in AM, small glass of juice with breakfast.

breakfast: either yogurt and granola or oatmeal with dried fruits or blueberries and some honey on top.

lunch: either leftovers from dinner, salad, PB&J sammich.

snacks: veggies with dip or dressing, dried fruit.

very few tater chips. few squares of dark chocolate now and then. ice cream maybe once a week.

no booze. full of calories.

keep it up. it's worth it.

tried 'egg beaters' last week. just the same taste as eggs, but way lower cals and cholesterol. make a nice morning omelet with mushrooms and swiss cheese.

Took Coz for a 45 min long jog/walk today even though it was kinda cold out...he loves it, and I am easily able to do it (no shortness of breath, yay fitness!)

I eat 4x/day, small stuff...so my blood sugar and energy level stay as even as possible. PB sandwich on multi-grain bread, fat-free Greek yogurt, fruit, tzatziki on whole wheat pita, Kashi trail mix bars, grilled chicken with veggies or salad, lean beef, etc...are just a few examples. Atkins shakes are also great for me to throw in the car when I'm on the go and need sustenance fast. I have a lot of food allergies and GI issues, so this list of foods has proven to work well for me.

I am so happy to see this thread active again, and packed with so many success stories!

Been low sodium most of my life out of necessity...too much made that 'time of the month' a whole lot worse.

I'm low sodium + 100 ounces of water a day because of repeated kidney stones.

To hell with that.

Oh yeah, that's my other reason for being low-sodium...I'm a kidney stone factory! 100 oz water/day and some tart cherry juice and apple cider vinegar thrown into the mix here. I use an app to keep track of my water intake.

Gotta do what I've gotta do...(ain't getting old grand?)

I forget to keep tabs on this thread.

Just to give an update

January 1st, 210 lbs Went on the velocity diet. Calories restricted to 1,400 a day and under 60 grams of carbs. Workout days I went up to 1,600 calories and 110 grams of carbs.

January 31st. Dropped down to 190lbs.

Feb of 2014 So far I've gained about 5lbs Lost about 1 inch in my waist.
Non work out days are under 100 grams of carbs. 6 meals a day each meal has approximately 40 grams of protein and 10 grams of healthy fat. Carbs are mostly split between my 9:30 coffee break and dinner.

During work out days, carbs are loaded in my pre-work out 38 grams of carbs, intra work out (65-113 grams of carbs depending on work out intensity) and post work out (less then 50 grams of carbs). Carbs, are from l"clean" be it rice or Ezekiel bread, also branch cylic dextrin.

Currently on John Meadows, Creeping Death 16 week work out. These work outs totally the crap out of me every time.

March I will be adding some morning fasted cardio to see if I can drop some inches off of my waist even more.

BTW anyone have questions please feel free to ask.

Motivation

Went off the reservation the last 4-5 weeks. Luckily not much damage done judging by my last post in mid January weighing in at 194 lbs. 196 lbs. this AM. Got back on track last weekend, well under calorie mark every day and 3 workouts so far. Gonna push hard the next week and try to get to 192 lbs by my 1 year anniversary (30 lbs lost, started this thread at 222 lbs on March 3 of last year). Hoping I've still got some water weight from my month-long binge because 4 lbs pure fat loss probably isn't possible in 6 days.

Goal for Year 2: ~25 lbs. fat loss to 170 lbs.

By the 4th of July.

Let's do this.

Keep on trucking people.
