While MY parents never took a .gov check or job .....MAYBE mom did some secretarial work in the Temp buildings on the mall during WW2, she never said, for sure, but alluded to it, I was born April '44.....and they survived quite nicely even had their first house in Bethesda Md....sometime around '42 or so....Dad did serve as a NRA rifle instructor at Camp Perry Ohio....during the war....so maybe he too did have a minor .gov job for a few months....

I hope they thanked FDR & not the idiot Hoover for their success. he Nixon,Reagan & the Bushes are why it's called the "republican depression" & now "the republican recession."
