Iraqi Prime Minister Says U.S. Forces Must Leave On Time - WSJ.com

BAGHDAD—Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki ruled out the presence of any U.S. troops in Iraq after the end of 2011, saying his new government and the country's security forces were capable of confronting any remaining threats to Iraq's security, sovereignty and unity.

Mr. Maliki spoke with The Wall Street Journal in a two-hour interview, his first since Iraq ended nine months of stalemate and seated a new government after an inconclusive election, allowing Mr. Maliki to begin a second term as premier.

Never needed a boot on the ground anyway, not round ONE or round TWO, our .gov is led by idiots.....I got more common sense in my left ass cheek then in the whole damn .gov structure in DC......

Wow ... our resident expert on all things and everything TxAg and I argued that point already. He said we needed Boots on the ground, when I said we’ve already invested so much in Hi-Tech weapons that we didn’t need to. I get those smarts from the business end … by brain.

I never served in the .mil, but thought VN was a total waste of men, and unfortunately was proven correct....damnit.....

and so we could have won that war in about 2 months.......maybe less, really.....

and if China had invaded?? so what??......let them have the problems.....

like this islamic war.....same sort of solution, and not necessarily given we need any nukes...maybe for some really HARD site, but doubtful they have that given who they are....and where they are.....

If that means commiting to help them then the US needs to do that.

IMHO, there will be a day when the US forces are not needed but, like I said, they shouldn't be "kicked out" per say if the current gov't can't handle taking care of itself.


I agree our immigration policies need to be tightened down.

Real geniuses in our .gov structure, that's why I going to start a wiki thread....

because I don't like our .gov or anyone much working in a civilian crapassity for the .gov....

If I had a Tank parked in my driveway, pointed at the neighbor’s house across the street, there would be no need for me to have any deterrents within his house or yard. Especially if my intelligence advises me is that the only thing my neighbor has, is a BB Gun to retaliate.
