Any interest in engine chrome?
I will be "de-blinging" my car very soon, and will have lots of chrome goodies for sale, including some rare and hard to find items.
When I do get the parts off, I will take pics of each item and put them up for sale. For now just seeing if anyone here would be interested, and if not, I'll just list it all on CF. Expect the following items to be available soon... - Ultra-rare chrome plated manifold cover (the Kewl version that looks like the manifold) - chrome OEM fuel rail (single fuel line style) - chrome alternator and pulley (non-clutch type pulley) - chrome alternator mounting bolts - chrome alternator bracket - chrome OEM airbridge with smooth black silicone coupler (fits 01-04) - chrome dipstick handle - chrome dipstick tube (01-04 style) - chrome catch can SOLD - chrome belt tensioner and mounting bolts - chrome OEM wiper arms, blades, and bolt caps - chrome cowl inlay (rather unique as it's solid, no vent cutouts, and no visible fasteners) - chrome/etched Design Specialty filler cap covers - chrome headlight motor knob covers - polished SS trim plate that covers the front area where the bumper attaches (hood seal area) - chrome hood strikers SOLD - chrome hood latches - chrome door strikers SOLD - chrome hatch strikers (for later model coupes) SOLD - chrome door prop bars SOLD On the alternator and bracket, I will consider trading for stock equivalents, as I no longer have my stock parts. A few generic engine bay pics of most of this stuff can be found now in my album and showcase, but as of now, nothing is off the car yet and immediately available, just seeing if there is any interest on THIS forum before I do post it all up for sale. Took it out and snapped a few pics today.
This is (obviously) 2 pieces, chrome plated (not polished SS), and simply drops in the cowl tray (no fasteners needed). If fits perfectly in the opening, and you'll probably notice one piece has a slight bend to it, this was done so the seam in the middle lines up with the other pc, making it look virtually seamless once installed. This pc has been in my car for about 6 years, so it's not 100% flawless, but overall, it's very nice and show-worthy, I'd rate it an 8.5 out of 10. It could probably clean up even better with some chrome polish, I just wiped it down with detail spray prior to taking these pics. And, a pic of it on the car... Asking $80 shipped for it, which is about $100 less than the CEC cowl inlay sells for...but this one doesn't have the vent slots. This is a unique piece and you'll probably never see another one like it. I paid $230 for it in 2003 FWIW. I do take Paypal, and it can ship as soon as tomorrow. Thanks, Tom |

Mike, mainly because I no longer show the car, really could use the money that's essentially sitting there doing nothing, and I might even be selling the car itself soon.
I can reap a lot more selling off the decorative stuff separately prior to trying to sell the car itself (if I do end up selling the car that is). |

I do believe it was the first chrome one ever made too. 2007....
I know Jason got a pretty penny for this one back in the day...but now seeing Chip's current sale prices, I was gonna ask $100/shipped. |

As for the caps, here is what I have. These are all Design Specialty caps with the factory style markings etched in the chrome, with the exception of the power steering reservoir cap....I have a plain chrome Eckler's cap for that I will include for that. I bought these right at the time DS was closing, and he had no PS caps left at that time...I took what I could get. The DS caps include: Brake fluid Clutch fluid Washer fluid coolant Oil These are still IMO the best quality filler caps ever made for C5s. The etched caps originally sold for $85 EACH. Once I get all the strikers off, and condition assessed, I will give you a deal on all items as a package...right now, tentatively thinking around $300 for the 6 strikers and 6 caps. This is way less than half of what I paid for all of that new (the caps alone cost over $400). |

strikers....
Quote:
L-R, door, hood, hatch. Without flash: All of them include their respective mounting bolts. The hatch and door strikers were both chromed by Cajundude (now with England Green, formerly his own shop, Gulf Coast Performance). His chrome work is superb, and these are both very quality pieces in nice to flawless shape. These also come with chromed factory (torx head) bolts. The hood strikers are merely "ok". I believe I got these from Eckler's a long time ago, so they're typical ChromeCo low budget stuff, not in the same league as CEC or Cajundude's chromework. These also did not come with chrome hardware when I bought them, what I bought for them were stainless hex-head bolts and washers (not polished, not very shiny). I know the door and hatch strikers cost me around $120 for each set. The hood strikers were much less than that I'm sure. So, if you still are interested in it ALL....I'll price it like this... 6 filler caps - $150 2 door strikers & chrome bolts - $50 2 hatch strikers & chrome bolts - $50 2 hood strikers & SS bolts - $20 Total: $270 delivered to your door. Send me a PM if still interested. Thanks, Tom |

Hey Dennis, thanks.
I have most of my stock stuff, the only items I'm really lacking are the alternator and bracket. (And I just remembered, Cajundude owes me an alternator)...But I figured anyone interested in the chromed alternator might be interested in doing a trade too. I'm not really looking forward to swapping out the bracket again, but I think I can do it w/o disconnecting the PS pump this time (spoked PS pulley allows me access to the pump bolts). My car is down for the winter, so if anyone did want to trade, I could send out my parts immediately, and get the stock parts back after the buyer does the swap. Saves them from any downtime, other than the time it takes to do the swap. |

Not knowing what year your car is, just make sure the hatch strikers on your coupe look like the ones pictured. The 97/98 C5s used a different style striker. Paypal is [email protected] And these are ready to ship out Monday. |

Paypal received, the strikers are yours.
They will go out Priority Mail Monday, so you should see a little bling in the mailbox before Christmas. Thanks, Tom |
