Need advice on how or if to live with soon to be "ex-spouse" till end of school year for kids. Daughter 16, Son 17, I'm keeping house, but I'm the one who stays other places 2-4 nights per week. Am I crazy???? Daughter will live with "ex" when they go she goes. HELP!

My wife stayed with me to help me financially for 7 months after she decided to divorce. It was extremely stressful....extremely. We did all we could to avoid each other, but sometimes you are forced to interact and that usually escalated into a major battle. If I had an option, I would have taken it.

Not sure it's in the kids' best interest to be subjected to what may be a very stressful situation. If it's the only feasible option, however, separate bedrooms will help ease the stress.

Plan on walking away from any shit she tries to stir up, though, if for no other reason than to keep peace for the kids. At this point, with the divorce being inevitable, there's no reason to engage or allow her to draw you into arguments. Nothing to be gained.

Tough situation, for sure.

Arrange for formal visitation, guardianship for the boy and split now. The kids will suffer going forward if you draw things out. Best they know the score and have a structured schedule instead of quiet chaos.

You need separate spaces laid out, with clear boundaries in the house if you're going to make it work. Maybe even locks on the doors for privacy on the bedrooms....at least.
