NICE business there young man, something I looked at for a while up north, but had no garage to work out of then......too much other/family pressures to think of it again, that would have been GREAT pin money for me/us.....

I do. My Dad cut hair for 15 years at Ireland Army Hospital at Fort Knox so he could give my Mom pin money on a regular.

If you plan your retirement right, it's your Social Security check.

Nowadays, everyone can't plan on getting a Social Security payout.

I screwed up BIG TIME, down here, should have stayed in construction/remodeling and not tried any partnerships in a hotrod shop and then internet crap.....lost a ton of money, and found out the hard way about Florida 'law'.....and lien enforcement, and BK laws, and so forth, about a 4 years education from a state that is basically run by the mob.....

so without my silly SS check, I be in major problems.....as it is the bank on the reverse mortgage is stuck with it on this house....I reverse out just in nick of time Apr/may of '08 caught it in time on the way down....bank statement says 119k on this house, which is not worth but maybe 70k on a GOOD day....

29 years. Marketing strategist. In fact, I've never worked for anyone else. Same as Spence - every month I wonder if I'll make any money.

I tooke two years off to work on my new company, but now I'm back to working with clients. Although I'm doing a lot more producing/directing film.

I have been since 2009. I had a nice job as a Director of a specialty Engineering group, but the hours and the money was not there. I knew I would never make it to be president so I finished my contract and then packed up my stuff and left.

Working as a consultant on a contract basis is much better.

Had an automotive tool route for 5 years, made good money, but just got tired of chasing it.

Snap On? Mac?

I always thought that would be a neat job, and enjoyed talking to them when they came into the shops I worked at.

Vulcan Tools, a much smaller regional company owned by TRW and it's hard line was JH Williams Tools, since c. early 1900's. Went out of business in the mid eighties, couldn't compete with the big boys, Snap On, MAC, Matco, Cornwell.........

HA, INteresting, an old friend was a mechanic at a Exxon station for some years, got tired, took up a Matco truck/route, stuck it out to be area?/regional? manager, then swapped over to Snap On.....I think he a regional manager if not retired by now, he was several years younger than me, I know he raised a family/house on it though, which is rather surprising for the Wash DC region.....being the cost/living is SO high.....
