Full mouth reconstruction

Anyone here have it? Looks like I need it. My teef are a mess. Always have been. I already have 22 crowns. This procedure takes almost 6 months to complete.

Ouch! At 46, I've had my share of fillings, root canals, crowns, braces. I can't imagine doing something like that.

Essentially they adjust the bite and put crowns on ALL your remaining teef.

1 visit for the prep (6 hours) and one visit to install the new crowns.

Will you be getting the Highbridge ? If so,$35k sounds about right. This high end dentistry is negotiable, like cars are. My wife works in an office where they do 5 or 6 per month, and this is where the big money is.Tell them you are prepared to pay $35k, and see what they say. If they say no, tell them you'll have to think about it, and walk. You'll get a call within a week, with a better price. If my teeth were shot, I'd do it. It's the price of a car, and your teeth will be perfect.

Would a periodontist do the work? If that is the case, you should contact Rbridges here on VB. He has done work for me, and so far I still have my teefusees. Good dude too.

No, not a periodontist (gum specialist). He'd be better off in the hands of a prosthodontist (crown/bridge and denture specialist). I actually thought Rbridges was a prosthodontist... I don't know

There are so many variables in a full-mouth reconstruction. Not every dentist is qualified to do one, though a lot of them think they are. $40k may be high or it may be low--depends on exactly what's being done... There are a LOT of variables...

The guy I posted does sedation dentistry. You're just about out when you go in and when you wake up, you're done.

And I've had braces 2x and a handful of fillings.

dental work is expensive...especially when it's out of pocket.

Just had a cleaning and then they started taking all of these pictures. I asked them WTF was going on. Afterwards I got the bombshell and a good look at the pictures. Need old fillings dug out and replaced. Extensions put on. Jesus I just about had a heartattack. On a positive note I just had my two month cancer checkup, yes in my mouth, and he says everything looks great in there.

Technology for a dentist can be tough. A lot of people think we're trying to "put one over" on them when we take out the camera. But, in fact, we're just trying to show you what we see. I can tell you your silver filling is cracking and leaking, but if you see it on a tv monitor, you can really understand what's going on.
