I'm a American!

My father was FBI (Full Blooded Italian). First generation born in the US in 1910!

My mother as far as I can see was English, Her family came over from England about 25 years before the revolutionary war. Only found out 30 years ago they were Tories during the revolution and many of them went to Canada. Searching through the family tree looks like one of our distant relatives was a British general during the war. Got his ass beat bad and went back to England in disgrace.

Dad's side was mostly Scots-Irish; his ancestors settled in Appalachia in the late 1700s. We supposedly had a half-Cherokee orphan as a direct ancestor, but DNA tests that my brother took didn't bear that story out. I've traced other ancestors on his side back to William the Conqueror, but of course none of that can be proven without full documentation.

Mom's side is English-French, also settling in eastern TN area. I traced her earliest verifiable French ancestor back to a town just outside Richmond (Manakin, VA), where there's a plaque in his honor in a church he helped establish in the 1690s.

Granny Egnalf came to the US from the Ukraine in spring of 1916 and settled in the northeastern Pa coal mine region.

Great gramps Egnalf came to these United States in the 1880's and settled in philly.

Egnalf himself, is all American, but with clothes off some might think African Amercian.

My English ancestors were Tories as well. One was a member of the British Parliament. From what I can tell they left Boston and re-settled in Gloucester MA. My great-grandfather on that side was a carpenter. His wife lived to be 100 and was written up in the Boston Globe as the oldest Red Sox fan. One of her daughters, my great aunt, operated a gantry crane at the Watertown Arsenal, halping to make heavy guns during WW2.

Mothers side, 100% German. She said on the maternal side they were run out of Germany for nefarious reasons. Her mothers side were dynamite vendors that sold to the coal mines.

With that said, me mums was born in Cape Town, her mums was 100% Dutch, her father was a runt, mostly asian.

My father was born in Edinburgh, as was his ancestors as far as I can track, all were born there and died there, most enjoyed long-term unemployment.

I was born in Southampton, England, Home of the Saints, lived there for my first 4 years and then got the hell out--actually the family moved so I had no say.
Although I was not born here, I have no allegiance to any other country, once you live here that should be understood by all, being an American, 100% at that, is the greatest title in the world!!

Those dna testing thingys put me at 13% aftican, not able to easily explain that one, my father often stated we had 'some' black irish in us, but my research says that meant a spanish influence.

And yes, I will be filling out all reparation forms, while moving to kali soon!!

My nationality is American.

All four of my Grandparents were born here. All 8 of my Great Grandparents were immigrants. 7 can be traced directly back to Ireland. The 8th Great Grandparent has been largely a mystery to my family since I have been alive. He died at the age of 28, suspected to have had a rheumatic heart. Apparently upon his death, his family cut all ties with my Great Grandmother, her children, and everyone else in our family, so information on him is pretty sketchy. Probably born and lived in what is modern day Northern Germany, but that is disputed among family members.

Although *most* of the stereotypical Irish traits passed my mom up, she did get a couple- temper and red hair. Her father (my grandfather) and his four brothers got ALL of them. The O'Leary boys had a bit of a reputation I'm told.
