Just learned valet is $30, wait until I pull up in the C7Z, they will all run for cover; maybe I will arrive in my CTS-V, even louder than the Vette, they are going to love me, or toss my arse to the curb:

All I can think of is Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the scene where the valet tweakers are airborne in the priceless vintage Ferrari.

I remember about 30 years ago when I dropped my '65 GTO off to an upholstery shop for a new headliner. When I picked up the car the next day, the shop owner and main guy handed me the keys and said "Man that thing is fast!" I guess headliners need to be test driven like anything else. Now, back to the topic or perhaps Doug.

I do the same, as mine is also a 7M.
I would only pay for valet if I get to park it upfront myself.
With that said, this is boca raton, on the intracoastal, they will probably have at least 20 euroshits all worth $300+K upfront, they will tell me to park it myself.

During the reception, I will ask the waiter if he has any popsicles in the freezer, that was a great line from The Cowboy Way.

I hope they serve some good horsey derves.

Really, it deserves a professional write up with pics. Save money on the liquor and spend $ 40 to hire a professional writer to fully document the event.

My little buddy. Had it for thirty years. Lots of scratches and a couple of dings, but still serves me well. Curved, so as stated before, fits in an inside or back pocket easily.

Uber to the boat early. Pregame there and get to a nice level. During the reception sip to maintain level. Order two drinks ten minutes before bar closes. Uber home. Tip the bartenders.

Domestic Beer. $8.00
Import Beer. $10.00
Cheap wine. $12~$16
Cheap liquor/cocktail $16-$20
No premium wines or liquor available

Being discreet is the key here, but OP could transport a bottle in the trunk, retrieve it, have a few drinks surreptitiously, then replace the bottle in the trunk and toss the disposable cup in the trash on the way in. If he hid the key somewhere away from the car before he did this, then even if caught drinking in the car, he couldn't be charged with a DWI because he wasn't technically in control of the vehicle. Where are the keys? Not in the car! I think an open container ticket would be easy to beat, too, since he's in a private parking lot, and again, no key, so he's not in control of a vehicle. Assuming everything goes well, he retrieves the keys on his way in to the event.

Spending a lot of money at a bar was never something I worried about.

I remember getting 10¢ drafts, ha. Drinking age was 18, we wouldn't think of going anywhere without beer on the way, and a cooler full in the summertime.

My high school drinking and hotrodding buddy died in 2002. Oh well.

Problem with going down there is I probably would not return to the reception, as the boat is much more fun than a roomful of stiffies.
I considered a room, but there are probably $1,000/night, and I may leave early to get home to our dogs, my house is about 20 minutes away for me, 40 minutes for everyone else.

I am thinking a couple or three drinks when free, a flask hidden from the moochers, one trip to the boat, and then off to see the doggies.

Only problem with above is the wifey has stated I better not bail early,,, she likes to be one of the last to leave.

Drinkin' and drivin', and American tradition. Maybe you'd better break out the Club soda...

No need to uber home, I can crash on the b-i-l's 75-foot tri-level, it has 4 state rooms, and the third deck has an open back beyond the pilot house with more than enough space to sleep on a chaise lounger.

Of course those greedy ****s may charge me for a second day of parking.
