Three small pine trees cut down, maybe 8 inch diameter and 15 to 20 ft tall. I always salvage the trees for furniture or other projects. They were too close to other larger trees. I let them grow for a few years and harvest them as it were. I need a shed just to hold the whole trees I have already taking up space.
Probably 3 larger pines will come down this year to thin the herd also.
Transplanted a lot of hostas to out by the road where they can grow unchecked for 5 to 10 years. Giving a bunch away also.
Trellises need built for rose bushes soon, thinking rebar this time around.
Bear said it's time for a nap after playing in the pool... Good doggie.

Japanese Beetle season has started again.

Traps been out for a couple of weeks but saw some on the rose bushes today.
Bunch out by the road on some pampas grass, like they could eat that shit.

Need get a couple additional traps I reckon.

Built a dirty Martini just now, first one I've had in several weeks. Been sucking on gin & tonics or brandy or orange liqueur on the rocks instead.

Had to throw my old olives out, they were looking a bit seedy.

Tips for serious dirty Martini drinkers:

- Martinis are made with gin, no exceptions. James Bond was WRONG-O!

- Put the jar of olives in a flat food storage container like below. If you keep them in the original jar, after you take a few out from the top you have to dig in with a fork or something to get more. In the food container you can easily spear them with a toothpick.

- If you like dirty Martinis, there is never enough olive juice when you go through a whole jar. As I drain some juice off, I add water and salt to to the container keep the juice level up so I always have plenty.

- A dash or two of salt on the finished Martini is pretty good.

- Olives with jalapeno peppers are great in a Martini. Garlic-stuffed olives? -- not so much.

Personally I am not a big olive fan but a good friend swears by blue cheese stuffed olives
