WQell, the house is under contract...by somebody else that gave them original asking price from what my realtor and I can see. So this is a no-go unless it falls through.

Oh well. Gives me more time to save up more cash to put down and keep looking.

Well, looks like somebody willing to part with a big chunk of change offered above asking price and the house was under contract as of yesterday morning.

If that means you need to move by end of August, you will need to be under contact in July.

Give your realtor your criteria and budget and have her send you every listing in your target area. And of course you obviously will be searching the internet yourself.
