This guy doesn't seem to be a prick, he just wants somebody to tell him good news that he can stop an intake manifold coolant leak with stop leak... not gonna happen. $50 gasket kit and a days work is the only way to get it done, but I didn't want to comment since I'm sure he knows this is the true answer.

sound like he just spent a grand on a kick ass sound system...priorities, lol.

I whole-heartedly agree concerning the ridicule. I don't understand why it's so rampant in the C4 section and why the mods aren't more proactive in dealing with it. It was practically non-existent in the C5 section. As far as the OP is concerned, since the "pistol grip" shifter name was coined by Dodge/Plymouth for the 1970 model year it's been a very popular mod ever since. The Hurst and B&M T handle knobs are an attempt to make that feel and control available in a "universal" application. Since the stock auotmatic shifter sucks (yes, that's the correct techincal term

) I don't see any problem at all with threads concerning an improvement. Anything that would ratchet to prevent overshifting or missed shifts would be great. The B&M Starshifter and Megashifter both work well, but routing their cables (so that they don't burn or bind) is sometimes a nightmare.

I for one would love to see someone in the aftermarket attack this issue with a true bolt-in ratcheting shifter that would use the stock cable (and maybe even the stock boot) with a better knob that the small, slippery, kind of round one that we are stuck with. I nice T handle (my preference) or a good pistol grip would be great. I've been looking at converting over a shifter from a 90 or so Firebird since they at least have a good T handle. I was thinking of trying to combine that with the ratcheting mechanism from a B&M to make it worth the work of converting.
